The industries and the scents

At an industrial level a great interest also exists for the knowledge of the effectiveness of scents. At the moment they are usually used to condition certain actions, and that this is tendencies that within the next years will only more than increase. It is a very attractive idea that the using of environmental aromas can increase the efficiency of workers or to induce a possible client to buy a product.

The yield of production and aromas

In Japan it is habitual that citric aromas are distributed through the air conditioning the workers to increase the yield of production. Some aromas are "identical to the natural ones" they seek to make us believe that in our yogurt there are really fruits, and sprays also exists to make a used car smell "like new" and be easier to sell.

It is probable that soon you will find perfume products with pheromones (which stimulate sexual attractiveness) so that it is almost impossible to resist having them in your possession. And since it is so that these aromas so influence us in our brain it is not necessary that we detect them in a conscious way, and we cannot put on that we are in state of alert and that we are at the mercy of any subliminal manipulation.

Consequences of the popularity of aromas

An interesting application is the camouflage of unpleasant scents, like air fresheners made for rest rooms or to eliminate the scent of tobacco. But the risk also exists of eliminating the scents of toxic substances that therefore will happen to us unnoticed without any alarm sign that allows us to detect them.

The practical application of aromas is very interesting but it will be necessary to observe its development closely to avoid problems. Also, for economic reasons all the industrial products usually use almost exclusively synthetic aromas.
