Body lotions instructions

Pour the drops of the suitable essential oil on the carrier oil. Thoroughly mix both oils (see practical advice). In the mixtures with fatty oil carriers I don't usually recommend any certain carrier oil, since in most of cases they can be used individually. If you want to obtain a certain effect, then yes I specify the oil to use.

Fill a bottle with two thirds part carrier oil. Pour the drops of the essential oil that you like the most, dosing it carefully to be able to correct the aroma on time in case it is necessary.

Mix well and put on a little on the back of the hand. Does it lack something? Before making corrections you will need to consider that the aroma still "will age" for the next few weeks making the combination more harmonic, like as a perfume. Finally just fill the bottle with carrier oil.

Dosage

  • The general rule is, only a few essential oil drops are enough.
  • In a body lotion you should not add more than 20 essential oil drops per each 50 ml of carrier oil.
  • In a vaporizer and in the bathtub usually a total of 3 to 5 essential oil drops is enough and you will never need more than 10.

Practical Advice

  • When you make the mixtures don't shake the bottle. Turn it several times back and forth or rub it gently between your hands.
  • Write everything down
  • On the label of each bottle you need to always note the application, ingredients, date of elaboration, date of expiration of the carrier oil, etc. to avoid fading the label and the information needs to be covered with transparent adhesive tape.
  • If you have prepared a mixture to be given it to someone it is best that you attach, for them, a brief "instructions for use."

Provisions

  • It is practical to pre-prepare mixtures to be used in vaporizers: they can be taken to work or on a trip and are also a fantastic gift. A bottle of 5 ml can fit some 70 essential oil drops, but, of course, it is not necessary to fill the bottle completely. Calculate the number of drops slightly above the suitable amount in the recipe; you will be able to this way to use inferior doses of the most intense aromas, as those of rose, jasmine, cedar or vetiveria.
  • In the preceding pages the outline is indicated of making mixtures for perfumes.
  • The empty bottles of essential oils and the absorbent paper with which you can store and reuse can act as a refresher in a clothes closet very nicely for some days.
