Body lotions and massages


The mixtures of fatty oil carriers and essential oils will help to treat such local ailments such as those of the stomach and the intestine, or even muscular cramps, but at the same time they will help to take care of the skin and to "caress" the mind.

Frictions (Rubs)

A very simple and effective application is rubbing: spread the lotion on the skin using both hands simultaneously, the effects can be very beneficial if you take time and do it with love and putting all your attention in it, just as much as if it is for you as if it is for another person.

The true aromatic massage constitutes a very important application of the aromatherapy. It is of great use in so much as to alleviate symptoms as to provide a sensation of well-being, because the properties of the oils and the virtues of the massage act in a way in which they are reinforced mutually. However, the massage with essential oils is a very wide topic and it goes far and beyond the extent of this book.

Anyway, I want to propose two types of massages that are very polyvalent and easy to apply.

Massaging the ears

Some of the functions of the mixture of oils that are used, are to reinforced the sensation of well-being, to increase concentration, a feeling of relaxation will take the place of situations of panic or stress, or will be a help to reconcile sleep.

Stimulant or relaxant, everything depends on the combination of oils

1) Prepare the oil for massages and get as comfortable as possible. The massage should be applied at the same time in both ears.
2) Anoint the tips of the fingers with the oil and distribute it carefully on the internal and external parts of the ears. Take advantage at this point to anoint the ears completely.
3) Place the index and middle finger on the bone of the skull located behind the lobe of the ear; massage in circles up until the inner part of the ear.
4) Hold tightly the superior part of the ears locating the thumb of each hand in the interior face and the index and middle in the exterior. Slide the fingers slowly from the center of the ear toward the border stretching lightly. Repeat these soft tugs insistently at the same time sliding the fingers toward the lobe of the ear. Half way through this process (not with both hands at the same time) change the position of the hand so that the thumb is in the exterior of the ear and the middle and index in their interior. Repeat the steps 3 and 4 at least three times.
5) Finally, rub smoothly on the lymphatic conduits on the neck giving a massage with three fingers placing them from the top of the inferior jaw till the clavicle.

A massage in the abdominal area helps to alleviate many symptoms

Depending on the mixture of oils used, it is good for relaxing, to calm, to eliminate gases, to ease stomach or intestinal aches, or to alleviate menstrual pains, besides relaxing the mind.

1) Prepare the oil for massages, lie down as comfortably as possible and place a pillow under the head. To relax the stomach and pelvis the best thing that you can do is to place a big cushion under the legs. It completely relaxes the abdominal musculature in this way.

Rub smoothly clock wise

2) Anoint the palms of the hands with some of the oil for massages, place both hands on the abdomen and begin to move them slowly in circles clock wise. Apply this massage during at least five minutes, using slight pressure and take note of the pleasant sensation that it is.
3) To conclude, rub the abdomen smoothly in three big circles.

In this same way you can give massages to your spouse or your children.
